A vision for the Anglo-Irish Bank headquarters half-finished building in the docklands, Dublin, Ireland.
car Park is a collaborative initiative that combines the skills and efforts of a number of dedicated organizations and individuals based in Dublin, Ireland.
Rainwater harvesting is key to the luscious greenery which you can see pouring over the sides of this once dull to the eye unfinished Anglo-Irish Bank Headquarters. This building was once a symbol of the crippling economic recession in Ireland. It is now a symbol of growth, regeneration and is a vibrant positive feature of our city.
Come and visit the car Park, have a picnic, a stroll, enjoy our lunch break on the roof in the sunshine, or below deck in comfort if it rains. Get a spectacular view of Dublin from the roof, where there are telescopes with indicators showing sites of the city.
Planting in the park was done by children from the local school, with the kind support and guidance of the horticulture students of the Botanic Gardens. Areas of the park are dedicated allotments, for planting fruit, vegetables and plants of all sorts.
car Park is an exciting example of how beauty and life can be brought to the most mundane of city structures. The monumental site of the unfinished bank headquarters is transformed into a national asset, used by locals and tourists alike.
It is a haven for relaxation and contemplation, meeting with friends or meeting new people.
